About

My love of history, specifically family history, was inspired by my mother, my grandmother, and my great aunt.  My love of social history has developed over the years.  My mother started her ancestry journey many, many years ago.  She set out on a mission to learn about Rock Branch and the Greenway lineage.  I have pieced together my mother’s work, my Grandma Greenway’s notes, my Great Aunt Sallie’s documents and utilized family history books compiled by Bessie Mae Lunsford Brown, Sallie Lunsford Seymour, and other various documents.  This research also includes interviews conducted with my great aunts, Sallie and Annie Ruth; my grandmother, Estelle Greenway; my father, Glenn Greenway and my mother, Barbara Greenway.  I had the pleasure of interviewing my Great Aunt Sallie and my Great Aunt Annie Ruth on 18 Nov 2012.  They shared the advice their mother gave them, “be kind to your siblings.”

Be kind to your siblings seems so simplistic.  Simplistic advice that led to a family that gave to their siblings, their sibling’s children, their grandchildren, and their great grandchildren; led to a family that shared; led to a family that loved each generation.  My great aunts and aunts through the Greenway and Lunsford lineage were always there, even from afar.  This is a testament to that simple advice, be kind to your siblings.  The Lineage of Barbara Sue Hill and Glenn Seaborn Greenway will continue to be a work in progress as I continue researching, interviewing, and connecting our lineage beyond the 1700s and beyond the male lineage.  Our female lineage is filled with strength and great character that will continue to be explored and documented.

After my Great Aunt Sallie died, I asked if I could archive her documents and share with the family.  Lisa was gracious enough to trust me with pictures and all the documents saved over time. I will slowly piece it all together, and hopefully, will bring joy to our genealogy enthusiast. This site is designed to share pictures, stories, and lineage as I slowly document and archive.
